The Friends are a group of volunteers, lead by a board member, that carries out fundraising activities to help the library meet its goals; which are to enhance the collection, improve facilities and provide educational information and guidance to the community.

The first meeting of the Friends of the Englehart Public Library was held at the new library on January 30, 1995 with a board member serving as the chair. The current chair for 2005 is board member Gwen Colquhoun.
