About Us

We are a non-profit organization located just minutes outside of Englehart Ontario.

 

 

What is your organization's mandate and mission?

Englehart Nordic Ski Club was established in 1979 and has since provided and maintained 12km of groomed cross-country/skate skiing trails and 8 km of snowshoe trails. Our chalet is open Saturday and Sunday only from 10:00 to 4:00 for recreational skiers and other people using the park trails in the winter months . Come in to warm yourself by the fire and sign our book. We would love to hear about your experience.

What are your organization's typical activities (e.g. programs, courses, events, services)?

Our trails are open 24/7 to anyone for recreational skiing, snowshoeing or walking. We advertise potluck social evenings for skiing and snowshoeing each season. Watch for dates to be posted on our website and Facebook page.

Who takes part in your organization's activities or programs or who uses your services?

Englehart Nordic Ski Club currently has 105 members consisiting of skiers,hikers,snowshoers and associated members. Bird watchers love to come out and feed the birds. Our trails are now in very good shape and can be used year around. The trails are also used in the summer for pedal bikes, hikers and walkers. Trails are here to use and enjoy year round.

How does your organization reach our to members of your community who have not traditionally been involved in the activities you offer?

Posts are made regulary on our Facebook page and shared by those on Facebook. When your in Kap-Kigawan Park located on our signage is a QR code, linked directly to our Facebook page. Membership forms are posted in various locations in Englehart. You can also find us on our Facebook page Englehart Nordic Ski Club and on our webpage inviting skiers and others to come out and use these trails. The club now has a selection of skis, poles and boots in various sizes for those who would like to try skiing. We also have 2 sets of adult and 2 sets of children snowshoes to be loaned aswell. All are available free of charge for anyone who wants to use them.
